(SBN) – Just a day after what was largely seen as an “angry and divisive” speech before his supporters in Phoenix, President Trump stuck to the script in a call for unity Wednesday as he address the American Legion Conference in Reno, Nevada; and a State Department science envoy abruptly resigns in a resignation letter to the president that not-so-subtly spelled “IMPEACH.”
In other White House news, as per a new WH memo a military transgender ban will begin within 6-months. The new guidance will give the Defense Department full authority to expel transgender people from the military. President Trump stunned military leaders, lawmakers and other alike several weeks ago when he abruptly made the announcement via Twitter.
Meantime, in his resignation letter, State Department science envoy Daniel Kammen, an energy professor at the University of California, Berkeley said in part:
“Your failure to condemn white supremacists and neo-Nazis has domestic and international ramifications,” he said. “Particularly troubling to me is how your response to Charlottesville is consistent with a broader pattern of behavior that enables sexism and racism, and disregards the welfare of all Americans, the global community and the planet.”
