(SBN) — In his first formal address to the nation since taking office; President Donald Trump plans to announce his strategy for the war in Afghanistan.  White House officials say Trump will speak to the country tonight at 9 p.m. EDT from Fort Myer in Arlington, Virginia.

Last week, the president meet with his security team to discuss the strategy and reach an agreement.  No official word on any details of the plan. The U.S. has been in combat with Afghanistan for 16 years.

The prime time speech will also give Trump a chance to hit the reset button after one of the most challenging weeks of his presidency.
