Politicians and Celebrities Remember Comedian and Civil Rights Activist Dick Gregory

(SBN) — Tributes continue to pour in for comedian and civil rights leader Dick Gregory.  Gregory passed away Saturday at the age of 84.  Celebrities, politicians and the public have been using social media to remember the icon who unsuccessfully ran for President in 1968 as a write-in candidate of the Freedom and Peace Party.

The wife of Vermont senator Bernie Sanders Tweeted how Gregory and her husband once spent the night in jail after protesting segregation, and singer John Legend is among the celebrities honoring Gregory.
